KARANGA CAMP (13,100 ft/3,992 m)

Today we descend in elevation slightly.  The trek is spectacular, as we traverse the foot of Kibo's south-facing glaciers.  After climbing the 500 ft. Barranco wall, (not technical) we descend into the Karanga valley, and then climb up the other side to our camp.  We pass up and down through the Alpine Desert and Heath/Moorland vegetations zones.
